FOOD PANTRY
Food Pantry distribution takes place on the third Thursday of each month, from 11:00 to 11:30 am, in front of the Estudillo entrance. One bag per household, I.D. required. All of the food we give away is donated by our members.
You are invited to support the food pantry by 1) donating groceries; 2) making a financial gift to the food pantry; or 3) joining the food pantry team.
COFFEE GIVEAWAY
On the third Thursday of each month, from 7:30 to 9:00 am, volunteers gather at St. James to give away free cups of hot coffee and pastries to commuters and passersby. We also give away a lot of smiles, love, and grace. No donations requested.
GOD'S WORK - OUR HANDS
Every September we join ELCA congregations all over the country in a morning of service to our community. Look for our bright yellow t-shirts!
ENCORE GROUP
A group of the congregation, gathering regularly for learning, fellowship, and ministry projects. The group frequently undertakes Sunday evening book studies, and sponsors the collection of items for April Showers and a Christmas Toy Drive.
SECOND MILE GIVING
On the second Sunday of the month we take a special offering called Second Mile Giving to support the following ministries in our synod and our neighborhood:
- Sister synods including the Lutheran Church of Rwanda, the Lutheran Synod of El Salvador, and the Taiwan Lutheran Church
- Lutheran Social Services of Northern California
- Lutheran Campus Ministry
- Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary

WORLD HUNGER
In recognition and thanksgiving for the abundance of our food, when we gather for meals together, often on Wednesday nights in conjunction with classes, we take a special offering for the ELCA World Hunger program.
BUILDING FUTURES TOY DRIVE
Every year during Advent we take part in a toy drive to support Building Futures which gives our donations of toys and gifts to homeless children, teens and their mothers for Christmas.
EPHPHATHA YEOLIN BAPTIST CHURCH
Led by the Rev. Daniel Yoo and Young Yoo, the Ephphatha Yeolin Baptist Church meets at St. James on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 for worship in the Korean language, followed by fellowship. The congregation also gathers for bible study and prayer. For more information visit www.eychurch.org.
IGLESIA LA CASA DEL REY
Iglesia la Casa del Rey, an Apostolic congregation, meets at St. James on Sunday evening at 6:00 PM for worship in the Spanish language. There is Christian education on Monday nights. For more information contact Rev. Victor Christiansen. Email: apostolvictor@sbcglobal.net.
