St. James Lutheran Church is proud to be a 'Reconciling in Christ' congregation.
"What does RIC mean?"
RIC's mission is to advocates for the acceptance, full participation, and liberation of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions within the Lutheran Church.
The Reconciling in Christ (RIC) program recognizes Lutheran congregations, synods, organizations, colleges, and seminaries that publicly declare their welcome to people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
AFFIRMATION OF WELCOME
People of all gender identities and sexual orientations share the worth that comes from being unique individuals created by God;
People of all gender identities and sexual orientations are welcome within the membership of this congregation upon making a common, public affirmation of faith; and
As members of this congregation, people of all gender identities and sexual orientations are expected and encouraged to share in the sacramental and general life of this congregation.
